About this bead

A Rudraksha is the seed of the fruit of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree. The natural lines running from top to bottom divide its surface into faces, called mukhi. The number of mukhis decides what a bead is called, from one to many.

Our larger beads, often the size of a marble or more, come from our family's own Rudraksha trees, which have stood for around two hundred years. Smaller beads come from growers we know in Nepal.

Each bead is natural, so size, colour and shape vary from bead to bead. Every bead is chosen by hand and presented in a wooden box.

What you receive
  • One natural Rudraksha bead of the mukhi you choose
  • Wooden presentation box
Care

Keep the bead dry and away from soap and perfume. Once a month, clean it gently with a soft brush and apply a drop of pure ghee or sandalwood oil, then wipe off the excess.

Questions about this bead

How do I know which mukhi to choose?
Many people choose by tradition, by the deity a mukhi is associated with, or on the advice of their family priest. Our guide explains each mukhi, and you can message us before you order.
Will my bead look exactly like the photo?
No two Rudraksha beads are the same. Photos show a typical bead; size, colour and shape of yours will differ a little.
