Amrit Kund
Amrit Kund, also called Amritavarshini, is a large, deep stone tank inside the premises of the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
In mid-2026 the Archaeological Survey of India cleaned the tank as part of conservation work on the temple, and a stone Shivling was seen at its bottom. The temple trust has noted that the structure was already known from earlier maintenance in 2013.
Historians in Nashik believe the spring that feeds the tank may be far older than the stone tank itself. Devotees regard its water as especially sacred because it lies within the Jyotirlinga temple.
